July 4, Friday, another impact will be contributed to the world, this time, for Mother Earth (last year was for the poor, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, we helped build houses for the poor in Taguig City). Our task for this year’s impact day is to help the La Mesa Ecopark by planting trees.

I am so excited for this event, firstly because it has always been my plan to visit the La Mesa Ecopark but i just cannot find time to do so, secondly, i love nature so the idea of planting trees excite me, and lastly, its a day off from work.

The Impact Day has started in our Firm just last year (2007), this is how Deloitte member firms worldwide make their presence felt in connection with the notion on Corporate Responsibility. And Manabat Delgado Amper & Co., as a member firm of Deloitte joins the campaign on their own initiatives.

This year’s impact day was participated by more than 200 professionals of the Firm. The Ecopark volunteers had prepared 3 activities for our Firm. First is called the Nursery, wherein we will be toured all over the park and be introduced to the trees and other plants in the area. The second is the tree planting activity (ceremonial and actual), and lastly, the one I enjoyed most is the ecorace.

There are so many things to do in the Ecopark, should you wish to visit it with a friend or a family member, they have activities for a minimal fee. They have rappelling, wall climbing, biking, boating and paint ball. The park also has a swimming pool that is well maintained. But if you just feel like to commune with the nature, this also is the best place to go.
